Chicken Cordon Bleu

INGREDIENTS

  • 600 g chicken breasts
  • 100 g pork ham
  • 120 g blue cheese
  • 50 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 100 g breadcrumbs

METHOD

  1. Clean the chicken breasts and cut a lengthwise pocket into each one using a knife.
  2. Wrap a portion of blue cheese in a slice of ham, forming a neat roll. Stuff the ham roll into the pocket of each chicken breast.
  3. Season the stuffed chicken on both sides with salt and pepper. Coat each piece by dredging it first in flour, then dipping it in beaten egg, and finally covering it with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat a pan with a little oil and fry the chicken on both sides until golden brown.
  5. Transfer the seared chicken to a baking tray, add a small amount of water, cover with aluminum foil, and bake in a preheated oven at 180-200°C for about 10 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes until fully cooked and golden. Enjoy!
