Chickpea soup

INGREDIENTS

  • three garlic cloves
  • carrot
  • onion
  • ground paprika
  • oil
  • 500 g of dry chickpeas
  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • salt
  • bay
  • leaf

METHOD

  1. Soak the chickpeas in water with a teaspoon of baking soda the day before you plan to use them.
  2. The next day, drain the chickpeas. Chop the carrot into pieces.
  3. Then, sauté the chopped onion and garlic in oil. Add the chickpeas and carrot, and cover with water. Add a bay leaf and cover the pot.
  4. Simmer on low heat for two hours. Season with salt, ground paprika, and other spices to taste.
